About Me
Hello my name is Kim Kinsey, I am proud to say this is my 6th season in business with SUP the Rapids. As I get ready for my 6th summer in the SUP business I asked myself WHY? After some soul searching I determined that I get a natural high when people are so excited about learning how to do something new for the first time. It is also very enjoyable to show people the "Gem" that we have in the middle of this community, the Wisconsin River. Most people have lived in Wisconsin Rapids their entire life and have never been on the River.
I grew up on the Wisconsin Rapids stretch of the Wisconsin River, where I currently live with my family. Adventure and the outdoors have always appealed to me, whether leading canoe trips, mountain climbing trips or floating down the river and enjoying the tranquility of watching a sunset when the water is calm as glass and an eagle is soaring overhead. I have been a certified Wilderness First Aid Responder, lifeguard and I am CPR and First Aid certified. I am a certified Paddlefit Core Instructor. Stand up paddleboarding peeked my interest a few years ago when I discovered that I needed a low impact activity that was a great workout and a bit of an adventure. In the Wisconsin Rapids area we are fortunate to have several lakes and the Wisconsin River that can be used for recreational purposes.
Testimonials
It was so easy to learn how to Stand Up Paddleboard on the Wisconsin River. Kim was very patient with me and my three kids. She is great at explaining how to stand, paddle and control the board. As we floated along she pointed out a Great Blue Heron and an Eagle. I also learned some tidbits about the history of the area. Kim has a passion for teaching, nature and sports. These interests are evident every time I SUP with her. ~ Tracy
First paddleboard experience and it was awesome! Highly recommended for people of all ages and cheapest prices across the nation! Thanks Kim! ~ Amy
We rented Stand Up Paddleboards for my daughter's birthday party. Kim suggested SUPing by the Fireman's Memorial on the Wisconsin River. The 10 girls had a great time learning how to Stand Up Paddleboard, paddling around the islands, and playing on the boards. Her number one concern is safety, yet she made sure everyone had fun. I really appreciated the photos that she took of the group and sent them to us that night. Stand Up Paddleboarding is a great asset to the Wisconsin Rapids Community. I would recommend SUP the Rapids LLC to anyone planning a large group activity. ~ Eric and Carrie
